PHOTOLUMINESCENCE FOR AIRFIELD
![]()
Description:
Photo luminescent pigments were first developed in 1976. These original pigments were fully annealed zinc sulfide crystals. In 1990, Permalight® introduced the first strontium aluminate pigments. These pigments were much brighter than the zinc pigments and were the first UV resistant products on the market. They are also the brightest and have the longest decline time. The pigments store light energy (daylight or artificial light). Then the energy is emitted as a bright, glowing, visible light in darkness or through dense smoke and fog. They do not have any radioactive additives and are non-toxic. Applications: ![]() Permalight® Photoluminescent products can be made into foils, tapes, plates, paint systems (acrylic, polyurethane, epoxy), silicone, casting resin, films, vinyls, moldings, ceramics, and fabrics. ![]() These products have virtually unlimited uses such as "unlighted" taxiway guidance signs, "unlighted" retro-reflective markers, emergency lighting, stair markings, directional signs, traffic markings, handles and knobs, pavement markings (such as numbers), striping, and protective clothing. The uses are almost unlimited! ◙ Permalight® Photoluminescence has high customer satisfaction and is used in over 67 countries, over 1,000 ships, hundreds of railroads, many aircraft, and other vehicles. ![]()
