CALIBER SYSTEM
Compliances:
![]() ICAO Annex 14 Edition
2004,
FAA AC 150/5345-46C, CENELEC, STAC Applications: In order to deliver safety assurance and photometric performance, NAKSYS has created the CALIBER for establishing and maintaining an effective preventive maintenance program for airport visual aid facilities under the photometric requirement specified in ICAO Annex 14 Edition 2004 and FAA Circular AC 150/5345-46C. Features: This new generation
of airfield
photometric mobile measuring equipment uses light sensor technology to
measure the performance of each light fitting installed on the runways
and taxiways. In addition, a new feature offered by the CALIBER is the
ability to vertically measure threshold, runway end, and stop bar
lights. As the vehicle equipped with the Caliber System travels
parallel to the device being measured, the sensor array converts into a
vertical position. This unique feature reduces the measurement time on
site from 40 minutes to 2 minutes for these type of aligned lights, and
can measure all types of inset and elevated airfield lighting. The CALIBER is a real-time integrated mobile equipment system. ![]() The CALIBER has been designed as an ergonomic, easy, and reliable product providing accurate photometric measurement and storage of information. Trending and analyzing the performance of light fittings on airfield runways and taxiways has never been made easier!
Specifications:
The following capabilities and performance of the CALIBER are just a few highlights: ![]() ◙ Uses accurate photometric sensors to measure precise illumination of light beams. The accurate distance sensor records precise measurement data sample positions. ◙ Can easily be transferred to any vehicle without manufacturer assistance. ◙ Allows the operator to stop the light measurement process at any point, with the ability to start the process again from the last point. The system will automatically generate a single report at the end of measurement, despite multiple stops. ◙ Using a high speed sub-meter precision DGPS receiver unit, the system provides the option to automatically identify database numbers of each light fitting being measured. ◙ Compact and integrated system can be installed easily in any vehicle. ◙ Can easily be stored and transported using the specialized carrying cases. ◙ Instantaneous, on site options to view and print the measurement reports. The open architecture in the design of the CALIBER system allows different types of material configurations, thus offering the airport users the desired operating methods for each individual airport need. ![]()
Software:
The
standard version of the CALIBER software program includes all necessary
functions to manage the following:
![]() ◙ Airport details including information on runways and taxiways. ◙ Detailed list of the persons operating the system. ◙ Complete lights data base. ◙ Light measurement on site. ◙ Hardware diagnostics. ◙ Addition of measurement reports. Join These Other Airfields That Use THE CALIBER SYSTEM To Insure Their Lights Meet Photometric Requirements
![]() The involvement of the CALIBER in an airfield can provide preventative maintenance, regular inspection, and service upkeep - cutting the costs of testing time and future repairs. You will find that NAKSYS offers complete solutions in photometric testing of AGL systems to increase the safety and efficiency for your airfield needs and operations.
